Co-op
Should I apply to coop positions that aren't in the lower mainland?
Cons
-away from family, Dino, friends
-need to find a place to live
-unguided challenge of being independent
Pros
-open to opportunities that may not be locally available
-different environment
-challenge my independence and individuality
-learn my own way of life and culture (further self-discovery)
What else should I consider? What are your thoughts?

Do it. You're 20 now, turning 21. It's time to learn how to live on your own. And if the company you're applying to is big enough, you'll meet lots of other students just like yourself living away from home on their own for the first time.
I'm sure you'll come back a changed woman! And believe me, finding housing in Canada is MUCH easier than Australia..

well, i guess it also depends on what sort of "opportunity not locally available" we are talking about =P.....if you think that opportunity is worth it then go for it =P

go ahead as long as the position's good and it's not too financially impeding.
